I know what betrayal, frustration, feeling lost and seeking for something, anything to make the pain go away and get some sense of clarity.

As a best selling author, massage therapist, Bikram yoga teacher, sanctuary lifestyle enthusiast, artist and Mother amongst many other labels, I definitely thought I was making an effort. 

Yet, over time, I realized my journey had a distinctly horizontal flavor. I sensed there were soulful depths and soaring heights—whole other realms of being—that I had touched only in rare moments. All my development had been on the plane of trading in one habitual behavior for another "healthier or even unhealthier" habit.
